Elma Preston

Elma Jane Smith Preston East Carbon-Elma Jane Smith Preston, age 79, passed away on September 28, 2010, in Price, Utah. Elma was born to Brigham M. and Eva E. Singleton Smith on December 13, 1930, in Springville, Utah. Elma married Herbert D. Preston on August 26, 1950 in Sunnyside, Utah. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple, May 1965. Elma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she had served in various Primary callings for 32 years. She enjoyed cooking and quilting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, she was very family oriented. She is survived by her children: Duane R. Preston of Price, Betty A. (Craig) Larsen of Orem, UT, Joseph (Lorraine) Preston of East Carbon, UT, Scott W. (Jamie) Preston of Spring Glen, UT, Connie D. (Larry) Linnemeyer, Danette K. (Jim) Warren, both of Craig, CO, Hilda E. Preston of East Carbon, UT, a brother, Sheldon (Jan) Smith, sister-in-laws, Laura Smith, Faye Preston, brother-in-laws, LaMar (Linda) Preston, Ronald Preston, 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herbert, brothers: Rex Smith, Dallas Smith, and Wayne Smith, sisters: Durcella Smith, and Alberta Moore, sister-in-laws: Ruth Quinn, Lois Preston, and brother-in-law Bill Preston. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the East Carbon LDS Church. There will be a viewing on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Fausett Mortuary in Price from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior the services at the church. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Sunnyside, Utah. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
