Douglas Jennings

January 6, 1943 — December 8, 2015

Douglas Rulon Jennings returned to his Heavenly Father on December 8, 2015 at his home in Price, Utah, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 6, 1943 in Panguitch, Utah to Sarepta Prince and Val Baker Jennings. He married Lorna Bingham December 23, 1966 in the Manti LDS Temple. Doug graduated from Carbon High School and College of Eastern Utah. He is a talented carpenter and throughout his life he enjoyed building power plants, several buildings at CEU, and did beautiful work in many homes. Doug is a very faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His missionary service included the British/British South Mission, three stake missions, and a recent welfare mission with his wife and daughter. He truly enjoys serving others and has magnified each of his callings in the church, including seventy, high councilman, bishopric counselor, ward clerk, scout leader, and primary teacher. Doug is an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He has taught his children the value of hard work and integrity through his example. He is looked up to by all who know him. He has many great friends and is close to his extended family. He is admired for his loyalty, kindness, service, and non-judgmental nature. He maintains a positive attitude and great faith through his trials. His greatest joy in life is his family. He often said he would give his right arm for his wife and children. He has always kept his word, and maintained his sense of humor right up to the end. Doug was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe Jennings. He is survived by his wife, Lorna Jennings and a dozen children: Jim (Deana) Jennings, Cleveland, Utah; Kari (Jim) Jensen, Cedar City, Utah; Brenda (William) Patterson, Ammon, Idaho; Ginger (Jeramy) Jorgensen, Aurora, Utah; Andy (Kellie) Jennings, Price, Utah; Shelly (Aaron) Gailey, Blackfoot, Idaho; Tammy (Will) Payne, Cleveland, Utah; Chad (Ashley) Jennings, Price, Utah; Kena (Jesse) Townsend, San Diego, California; Dustin Jennings, Moab, Utah; Andrew Jennings, Moab, Utah; and Lara Jennings, Price, Utah. He has 34 grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers: Val John (Karla) Jennings, Norfolk, Virginia; Floyd (Susan) Jennings, St. George, Utah; Howard (Sherry) Jennings, Price, Utah and sisters-in-law, Nancy Jennings, Clearfield, Utah; and Vicki Jennings, Orem, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Gordon Creek Chapel, 175 North 1280 West, Price, UT at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 5:00 -7:00 pm at the Gordon Creek Chapel with a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 am on Monday prior to services. Interment will be at Cliffview Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Doug at www.fausettmortuary.com.
