ELMO - Dorothy Elaine Winder age 74, sister, aunt, niece and friend passed away in Provo, Utah at Utah Valley Specialty Hospital September 30, 2016 from diverticulitis and complication from surgery. Dorothy was born September 23, 1942 in Desert Lake, Utah to Virl Evert Winder and Thelma Black. She was the 6th child of 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls. She graduated from North Emery High in Huntington, Utah. She lived in Desert Lake, Price, Wattis and Elmo. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her family, friends, her cats and other farm animals. She was quick to learn new ways and was always helpful on projects going on at her home and on the farm. She was her sister Emma's "little" side kick, they went most everywhere together. She was "big" sister to Johnny, taking very good care of him. She was a caregiver for her mother and father before they passed away and was a great babysitter for her friend's children and nieces and nephew in past years. She liked Lawrence Welk and country western music and movies. She liked to watch tv, talk on the phone, draw, paint and color pictures. Dorothy is survived by her sister Emma LaRae Weber and her brother Johnny Junior Winder of Elmo; her sister-in-law Gloria (Evert - deceased) Winder of Price; 7 nieces and 1 nephew plus many great nieces and nephews; two aunts LaDean (Black) Weight, Grantsville, Utah and Zina (Winder) Tabor, Price, Utah; two uncles LaVan Dale Winder, Missouri and Louis Black, California. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Elmo LDS Ward at 11:00 am. A viewing will be Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and the Elmo Ward and one hour before services. Interment at Victor Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
