Donald Roger Curtis ORANGEVILLE--Donald Roger Curtis, age 80, died October 19, 2009, in Price, Utah. Roger was born in Orangeville, Utah, December 27, 1928, the fourth of nine children of William Lyman and Cora Sitterud Curtis. He married Delores Gnehm on October 11, 1951, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Roger is remembered for a lifetime of humble, dedicated service. He served as an LDS missionary in the Texas-Louisiana Mission, then served his country during the Korean Conflict. A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as a bishop, nine years as a stake president, as a Manti Temple sealer, and as stake patriarch. He also served as an Emery County Commissioner. As an elementary school teacher, he taught hundreds of students and took pleasure in their successes. Roger was a farmer and rancher who had a deep love for the land and nature, and for the town and county in which he lived. He was a living example of his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He will be missed by his family: his wife, Delores; children, Wes (Anne), Wendell (Nancy), Blaine (Kathy), and Marlene (Mervyn Jones); siblings, Jack, George, Jeanne, and Joyce Curtis, Carrol Taylor, and Merlin Mayberry; and 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Colleen; a sister, Beatrice; a brother, Bill; and two grandchildren, Derick and Kyla. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Orangeville LDS 1st Ward Chapel (45 West 100 South). There will be a viewing Friday, October 23, 2009, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale (720 N. Center St.), and from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
