Daphine Williams

October 6, 1927 — June 24, 2010

Daphine Williams TAYLORSVILLE / PRICE - On June 24, 2010 we lost our Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt Neen, and Friend, Daphine Williams. She was born October 6, 1927 to Howard Derral and Flora Brasher Rowley in Huntington, Utah. She grew up in Huntington, later attending school in Salt Lake City. Mom returned to Price where she worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator and met and married my father Bob Lamont Williams on August 26, 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mom had many gifts and talents, she was a good wife, a wonderful mother, and a true friend to anyone that ever knew her. Her gifts were - unconditional love, respect, and compassion for everyone in her life. Rarely did she declare an opinion - but when she did you knew it was wisdom. She had gained and spoken deliberately following the words of her mother, grandma Rowley, "Words are like bullets once you shoot them you can't bring them back." After dad's passing in 1973 mom returned to work and in 1999 moved to Taylorsville, Utah to complete her career and be closer to her kids. She gently coached me through some very hard times and for that I will be eternally grateful. Mom had extreme compassion for everyone she loved. She hurt when we hurt and she enjoyed joy and pride in every accomplishment, (large or small) with everyone she loved. Mom's wit and sense of humor were unique and totally unpredictable. She particularly liked making fun of herself. Survived by her son, Gregory Lamont (Kimberly) Williams of West Jordan, Utah; grandchildren, Julie (Brian) Graesser of Dugway Utah, Bob (Amber) Williams of Tillamook, Oregon; great-grandchildren, Monica and Christian; sisters, Phyllis Poloni, and Glyda Nielson; brother, Howard Derral Rowley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, mother, and father. We all have a special piece of Mom in our hearts - cherish it and use it. We would like to send a special thank you to Hospice of Utah; Paula, Jaclyn, and Claudia, and also to Dr. Gary Holland. Graveside service and interment will be held Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Price City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
