Cloyd Robertson

July 27, 1940 — February 15, 2020

Cloyd Wilburn Robertson passed away at 79 in his home with loving family surrounding him on February 15, 2020. He was born on July 27, 1940 in Orangeville, Utah to Wilburn and Sarah Jewkes Robertson. He married Merlene Hansen on February 9, 1963 in Mayfield, Utah. Marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on February 29, 1964. They have four children. Dad was a jack of all trades, he painted trailers, hauled cattle to California, drove truck for Ashworth and worked for Orangeville City. He was also a coal miner, on mine rescue team, volunteer fire fighter, auto and body tech. But his true love was farming. In his early years there's nothing he couldn't fix, especially with duct tape and baling wire. Dad loved his wife and kids, his grandkids were the light of his life. He loved to tease each one of them. Anyone was always welcome at the house. Mom would make sure they were fed and dad would be sure to tell them a story. Even though he suffered from Alzheimer's he always knew his wife, kids and grandkids. Dad loved his horses, dogs, camping and fishing. We have many memories in the mountains riding. He enjoyed his time herding cows with his dad. Survived by his wife Merlene; children Kelly Robertson of Orangeville, Kurt (Carrie) Robertson of Castle Dale, Karen Richards of Orangeville and Kathy (Robert) Baker of Huntington; sisters Deanna (Charles) Harris, Barbara (Tom) Hammond, Vaunda Troyer and brother Royce Robertson; sisters-in-law Roberta Gove, Carla (Kendyl) Wilkins, Terry (Valerie) Hansen, Wilma Thomas and Carol Hansen; brother-in-law Dale Jensen; 14 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; 21 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents, brother Gordon Robertson; sister Carolyn Jensen; daughter-in-law Stephanie Robertson; son-in-law Paul Richards; parents-in-law Ivan and Myrle Hansen; brothers-in-law Sheldon Thomas, Roy Hansen and Kent Peterson; sister-in-law Joann Robertson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Fausett Mortuary, 720 North Center, Castle Dale, Utah with a visitation one hour prior.
