Clifton L Carter
CLEVELAND - Clifton L Carter, age 79 of Cleveland, Utah. Our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend returned to his Heavenly Father and the arms of his loving wife Mickie, February 28, 2016. He was born May 20, 1936 in Provo, Utah to Loyal and Rinda Carter. He was married to Mickie Lyle Nelson on April 4, 1955 in Cleveland, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized October 23, 2015 in Payson, Utah Temple.
He served in the Navy for 8 years where he was stationed in California and then shipped out to Japan on the S.S. Hancock. He believed in working hard for everything he had. He had a love for his family and believed they were the greatest thing that ever happened in his life. He enjoyed farming and the smell of the earth. He also enjoyed music and his mom taught him how to play the violin at a very young age. He wanted to be remembered as a good man and the world's greatest Grandpa.
He is survived by his children: Vickie (Chad) Hansen, Cleveland; Robin Wilson, Salt Lake City, & Chris (Tina) Carter, Cleveland; 10 grandchildren: Heidi, Hank, Lisa, Lesley, Heather, Nick, Natalie, Chyanne, Kaitlyn & Sydney; 14 great-grandchildren: Ashlee, Austin, Aspen, Darrin, Kaelee, Layce, Daezey, Jerzee, Rydge, Ryder, Shaylyn, Quentin, Autumn & Avery; brothers/sisters: LoyDeane (Bill) Wilske, Steve (Carleen) Willson, Colleen (Art) Jones, Linda (Pete) Mottishaw, Carolyn (Dirk) Harris, Stanley (Juanita) Willson; brothers/sisters in laws: Richard & Flora Motte, Lynn & Deloris Nelson. Preceded in death by, Mickie Lyle Carter (wife), Loyal Carter (father), Rinda & Clarence Willson (parents), & Carma Sherman (sister). A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Cleveland LDS Chapel from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Cleveland LDS Chapel at 11:00 am. There will be a viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 am prior to services. Interment will be in the Cleveland Cemetery entrusted to Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may visit and sign the online guestbook and share memories of Clifton at www.fausettmortuary.com.
