Charles Bradshaw

Charles Vincent Bradshaw WELLINGTON - Charles Vincent Bradshaw, age 83, returned to his Heavenly Home on Dec. 21, 2011, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Charles was born to Charles and Constance Bitton Bradshaw on Nov. 20, 1928, in Snoqualmie Falls, Washington. Shortly thereafter he moved to his lifelong home of Wellington. He loved Wellington so much that he lived there the rest of his life. He met Phyllis Burnett in the second grade, and they were later married on May 19, 1948, in the Manti Temple. His main priority in life was his family. We enjoyed countless camping trips, parties, and other outings with Dad. Singing together was one of our favorite activities. He served in the U.S. Navy in Hawaii, served a term on the Wellington City Council, and earned his Associates degree at CEU. Dad's beautiful singing voice will be greatly missed. He sang at numerous weddings, funerals, community and church functions. He was once offered a chance to sing with a USO tour group. He had many creative talents, including building unique bikes that were often ridden by grandchildren in Wellington Pioneer Day parades. His home is filled with many of his sculpting and welding creations. A wall in his home was adorned with sculpted faces of his wife, children, grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. A metal rocker and glider are still in use in front of the Price City Library. The family is pleased to have in their possession a book of his creative poetry, original songs and his Diary in Verse. Charles was the manager at Deseret Industries for many years and also worked at the Safeway grocery store in Price. He worked hard his entire life to provide for his family, and whistled while he worked. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many callings including Bishop, Stake President, and Stake Patriarch. Charles and Phyllis served a mission in the Calgary, Canada Mission in 1992-93. Charles is survived by Phyllis, his wife of 63 years, his children: Mike (Ruth), Jerry (Diana), Tim (Cara), Alisa (Bill) Bates, and Dale (Jana), two brothers: Dennis and Ted (Kay), and sister, Myrna (Corky) Wall, 25 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorelei Bradshaw; granddaughter Emily Bates; parents, Charles and Constance Bitton Bradshaw; brothers, Cyril and Vernon, and sister Pat Makin. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellington 1st/4th Ward building located at 47 North 100 East. A viewing will be held on Monday, December 26th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary. An additional viewing will be held prior to the funeral on Tuesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment will be at the Wellington City Cemetery.
