Charla Jewkes Prettyman
"Charlie"
EMERY - Charla "Charlie" Jewkes Prettyman, age 56, peacefully passed away February 25, 2012 at her home in Emery, Utah. Charlie was born June 28, 1955 in Price, Utah to Merrill George Jewkes and Louisa G. Barber. She married Martin James "Jamie" Prettyman January 21, 1983 in Emery Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized on December 1, 1995 in the Manti LDS Temple.
Charlie loved her family and spending time with them was the best thing in her life. She loved horseback riding, knee boarding, and playing horseshoes. Charlie and Jamie are the undefeated horseshoe champions of the Thomas/Jewkes Family Reunion. Charlie had a great sense of humor and loved life. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the temple and the promises to have her family together forever. She had unprecedented knowledge of her heavenly home. Charlie loved her family and her spouse. She often spoke about home and the peace and love she knew.
Charlie is survived by her husband, Jamie; children: James Corey (Shelly) Prettyman of Huntington, Branden Cole (Jacqueline) Prettyman of Grantsville, and Joshua James (Stephanie) Prettyman of Rock Springs, Wyoming; mother, Louisa G. Barber of Dudleyville, Arizona; grandchildren: Mikayla, Tristen, Summer, Madison, Hayden, Ashlynn, Zackary, Payton, and Ashton; siblings: Trudy Lund of Emery, Beckie (Mike) Greene of California, Guy (Christina) Jewkes of Price, Merrill Brent (Sandra) Jewkes of Ferron, and Jennifer (Char) Jewkes of Hurricane; and step-mother, Jean Jewkes of Taylorsville; brothers-in-law, Jack Prettyman of Ferron, Ernie (Doris) Prettyman of Helper, David (Kristy) Prettyman of Wellington and sister-in-law, Jody Mortensen of Vernal.
She was preceded in death by her father, Merrill George Jewkes; son, Robert "Little Robbie" Wilson, who was later sealed to Jamie and Charlie; grandchild, Addison Prettyman; father-in-law, Bud Ernest Prettyman; mother-in-law, Betty Lena Prettyman; and sister-in-law, Stella Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emery LDS Chapel (70 N. Center St., Emery). There will be a viewing Tuesday, February 28 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (720 N. Center St., Castle Dale) and Wednesday from 9:30 - 10:30 prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Wellington City Cemetery on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
