Carolyn Ehler

July 12, 1931 — November 17, 2015

Marie Carolyn Stocks Ehler Carolyn returned to our Heavenly Father and the waiting arms of her beloved husband, Elvin Ehler, on November 17, 2015. Carolyn was born on July 12, 1931 and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. She began her lengthy nursing career after graduating from the Nurse's Training Program at the Pocatello General Hospital in 1952. Shortly after graduating, Carolyn married her eternal sweetheart, Elvin Ellsworth Ehler on July 21, 1952. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1962. Four children were born of this union. Carolyn worked in Idaho, Colorado and Utah as a Registered Nurse (RN). She was among the first graduating class for Family Nurse Practitioners from the University of Utah, receiving her FNP license in 1973. As a FNP she worked at the East Carbon Clinic from 1973 to 1975. She then worked at the Emery County Medical Clinic for the next 21 years. She was known as "Doctor Mom" to the many patients that were stitched up, had bones set and ailments cured. She was known for her kindness, sympathy and listening ear. She retired in 1996. Carolyn and her husband served a mission at the Church Service Family History Mission in SLC. Elvin was diagnosed with ALS and passed away shortly after they returned from their mission. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her loving husband Elvin, son Gordon Ehler, daughter-in-law Julie Ehler, grandson Matthew Bulkley. Survived by children Douglas (Susan) Ehler, Ileen (Robert) Litster and Rosemary (Kelly) Austin, 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Symbii Hospice, especially Diane Tadehara, Mandy Bennett and Kellie Oldroyd. Thank you to Dr. Richard Donaldson, the Orangeville Second Ward and her dear friends that helped care for our wonderful mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orangeville 2nd Ward Chapel, 45 West 100 South. A viewing will be Friday, November 19, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 720 North Center Street, Castle Dale, Utah and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Orangeville City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guest book and share memories of Carolyn at www.fausettmortuary.com.
