Beverly Shiner Averett Tucker
CLEVELAND-Beverly Shiner Averett Tucker passed away peacefully March 12, 2014, in the Provo Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness.
She was born on Sept 30, 1937, in Hiawatha, Utah to Grant S. Averett and Francis Lorraine Davis Averett. She married Darrell Ben Tucker on Dec 10, 1952. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple July 23, 1963.
Beverly was a kind and loving person. She would go out of her way to help if she could. She always made good friends and kept all of them. She raised 9 daughters, to maturity, and watched them raise their families. Her family was the center of her universe and she often bragged about them.
She loved going to the Temple, and was a temple missionary with her sister Claudette at the Manti temple. She shared her love of temple work and the gospel with her family and friends.
She loved her horses, and was an avid appaloosa fan. She would go to the horse races and report on them for the Appaloosa Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. She was also a photographer who took many photos at the races. She was a published author in several horse magazines and papers.
Her love for animals was lifelong. She worked for many years with the veterinarian and cared for her families animals. Ben and Beverly raised race horses for awhile. She had many pets who she loved.
She is survived by her sister, Claudette Hayward, brother David Averett. 9 daughters, Debra Jean (Chet) Oviatt, Benna Lee Tucker, Beverly Joelene (Norman) Hunt. Cheryl Lynn Tucker, Wendy Sue (Dennis) Campbell, Tammy Kathleen Tucker, Carrol Deann (Ralph Schade)Tucker, Teresa Irene Tucker and Kimberly Denice (David) Turner. She has 22 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, 2 grandsons and a son in law.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cleveland LDS 2nd Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cleveland LDS Chapel and also on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Cleveland Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Beverly at www.fausettmortuary.com.
