Beven Young

November 8, 1931 — October 5, 2012

Beven Guy Young 1931-2012 PRICE, Utah - Beven Guy Young, our loving and devoted husband, father and friend passed away on October 5, 2012, in Price, Utah. He was born November 8, 1931, in Huntington, Utah, to Guy L. Young and Mabel Leonard. He attended North Emery High School where he was active in sports. He served a 3-year LDS mission in Mexico City, Mexico, where the language and the people became very dear to his heart. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Brigham Young University and became a life-long Cougar fan. He met the love of his life, Charlotte Nielsen, and they were married September 27, 1958, in Ferron, Utah. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. He and Charlotte moved to Price and were blessed with three wonderful children. Known as "Captain Young," Beven was an educator with the Carbon County School District for 35 years, teaching Drafting, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Spanish. He also taught Drivers Education. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held various callings throughout his life, including Bishop. He was serving as manager of the Price Bishops Storehouse for the past 13 years. After he and Charlotte retired, the two of them traveled the world together with a great group of friends. He also traveled with his family, which he especially enjoyed. Time at the family cabin was cherished. Many days were spent watching western movies, playing Rook and dominoes, fishing, riding 4-wheelers and counting the deer. Beven is survived by his wife, Charlotte, and his three children David, Colleen and Nicole. He is also survived by his brothers Kent (Yvonne) Young and Willard (Jean) Young; and his sisters Alice (Clyde) Conover and Bernice (Bazel) Nelson. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Beven had many talents. He built the family home, cabin and four-plex and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. In his own special unique way, Beven was constantly teaching all those around him. He was a great husband, father, brother and friend. He was so much fun and made friends with people wherever he went. He will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Price 5th Ward Building, 545 East 400 North, Price, Utah.
