Alta Preston

Alta Alena Ripplinger Preston 1916 ~ 2011 North Ogden / Sunnyside-Alta Alena Ripplinger Preston, age 94, passed away on September 6, 2011 in Bountiful, Utah, after a short battle of cancer. She was born October 8, 1916 in Tabor, Idaho to Karl and Alena Daniels Ripplinger. She married James Glenn Preston on May 15, 1937 in Price, Utah; they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was raised and educated in Driggs, Idaho; she was a life long member of the LDS Church holding many positions. She is survived by her children: Karla (Ron) Anderson of North Ogden, GayAnn (Ted) Farmer of Orangeville, Larry (Alisa) Preston of East Carbon, Garry (Jann) Preston of Woods Cross, and Buddy Tubinaghtewa of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters; three brothers; 33 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; two sons: Kay Preston and Myron Preston; one grandson; and one brother. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellington LDS Stake Center. A viewing will be held Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 East 100 South - Price, Utah) and on Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Sunnyside, Utah. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
