A. Gale Jorgensen
A True Rancher
After a tireless life as a gentle husband, father, grandfather and brother, A. Gale Jorgensen was called home to the waiting arms of the Savior Jesus Christ, his infant son Jay, and son and best friend Jacob.
Gale was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to James Lester and Adela Caroline Seely Jorgensen on September 22, 1928. He married his lifelong partner and eternal companion, Mary Ann Jones in the Logan Temple on August 17, 1966. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he enjoyed, as a father, the good things the gospel brings as his children grew and to love and serve their Heavenly Father. He worked as a sheep and cattle rancher in the fields and mountains near Castle Dale, Utah with his sons and brothers. He loved to work with his hands and was a gifted mechanic. He honorably served his country in the Korean War. A hard working, gentle man he loved to ride trains with his grandchildren, spend time with his family at the ranch and in the mountains. He had a pet bear but was unable to tame a mountain lion.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann; Children: James, Price; Phyllis and George Patlan, Orem; Adela and Trent Huntsman, Provo; Joseph and LaNae, Castle Dale; Liesl and Ben West, Riverton; Lucile and Kirk Robinson, Castle Dale, Jacob's widow, Julie Edmunds Jorgensen and Curtis Toone, Bluffdale; Grandchildren Jana, John, Natalee, Jace, Dallin, Kelsey, Alyssa, Jaxon, Joshua, Jordan, Jacob, Cameron, Kaestli, Alyson, Brock, Mitt, Jorgen, Zander, and Collin; Brothers Don and Ray Jorgensen; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by sons Jacob Gale and Jay Jorgensen; his parents; brothers, John and Joseph Jorgensen; sister, Shirley Christensen; horse, Buck Pig and dog Orville.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Fausett mortuary in Castle Dale from 6:00 - 7:00 pm. Gale will be laid to rest overlooking his beautiful Castle Valley that he loved following funeral services on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Castle Dale LDS Stake Center (35 East Main Street). A viewing from 9:30 - 10:30 will take place prior to the funeral. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
